Berkeys Air Conditioning and Plumbing (“Berkeys”) provides HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical services to residential and light commercial customers in an affluent subsection of Dallas/Fort Worth (“DFW”) that includes Southlake, Grapevine, Flower Mound, and the entire DFW Metroplex.   The company employs over 70 people and maintains an active customer base of roughly 60,000 people.  100% of Berkeys work is focused on service and repair (i.e. no new construction).

This position is for Berkeys in greater DFW region. ( Southlake, TX)

Job Objective:

The Electrical Manager will be responsible for leveraging strong leadership skills in a small business environment where intelligence, people skills, and cost consciousness are critical.  This position will oversee the Electrical Operations while maintaining overall responsibility for the team of technicians, and all subcontractors who perform service to support the Electrical department. The Electrical Manager will work closely with the President of Berkeys to support organizational growth by managing and overseeing all aspects of the company’s day-to-day Electrical operations.

Key Job Duties:

  • Recruit, Train and Retain Technicians
  • Motivate, manage and discipline technicians
  • Manage to key financial objectives (gross profit, operating profit, etc)
  • Address customer complaints related to field operations.
  • Oversee all sub contract charges and material charges as they relate to technician pay
  • Monitor our truck fleet, schedule service and repair of all vehicles
  • Advise President of capital expenditure needs for the operation and be prepared to justify expenditure
  • Prepare daily performance report and monthly and average ticket report monthly.
  • Assure adherence to all Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation rules and regulations

 

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of residential service leadership overseeing technicians
  • Must hold active Texas Electrical Contractors License
  • Proven success managing/leading in a small business environment
  • Successful history of building teams with direct responsibility for hiring/terminating employees
  • Familiarity with basic dispatch software and
  • Knowledge of fleet dispatch and logistics is a plus
